Pokémon Go dating service launches worldwide

The world’s first Pokémon Go dating service is here.

Project Fixup has launched its Pokémon-themed dating service following the wildly successful release of Nintendo’s augmented reality game Pokémon Go.

Users first complete a short questionnaire which is sent to the PokéDates matchmaking team who will find someone for them with similar interests. Matchmakers then send out emails to each person and members will be able to read up on their match.

However, you’ll have to cough up $20 (£15) for each date you actually plan on following through with. Users will luckily get their first date for free when they enter the promo code “PokeDates2016.”

"As soon as Pokémon Go launched, we knew it was a perfect fit for our users; Pokemon Go enthusiasts and new members alike,” said Sarah Press, Project Fixup CEO and co-founder, in a statement.

“Pokémon Go has taken the world by storm and it's more fun to play with a companion,” Press added. “We hope PokeDates will bring singles together to experience the joy of the game and explore their city while getting to know one another.”

The dating service is currently only available in the US before its planned rollout across the globe.
