Pokemon Direct UK time: When is the Nintendo reveal? All you need to know

A new generation of Pokemon could be unveiled soon with a dedicated Nintendo Direct to be broadcast on Wednesday.

It is thought that tomorrow's Pokemon Direct will see the franchise finally reveal the new generation of games around three years after Generation 7 was released.

Nintendo has already announced that a new game in the franchise is due by the end of the year, and will be made available exclusively for Nintendo Switch.

Up until now fans have been left in the dark as to what this entails, and are hoping tomorrow's video on "Pokemon Day" will finally reveal all.

Here's everything you need to know.

What is Pokemon Direct?

Pokemon Direct is a brand-specific version of the Nintendo Direct, an online video service that broadcasts company news directly to the user.

Similar to the Nintendo Channel, Wednesday's video will be available on Nintendo's website along with their official YouTube and Twitch channels.

When is the Pokemon Direct reveal?

The Pokemon Direct will be broadcast at 2pm on Wednesday, February 27.

Nintendo have kept their cards close to their chest with the release, merely teasing that some "new information" will be livestreamed.

But fans are hoping the seven-minute long presentation will show a glimpse of a new trailer or gameplay.

The statement reads: "Tune in for roughly seven minutes of new information in a livestreamed Pokémon Direct presentation.

"Check back here on Wednesday, February 27th at 2 p.m. (UK time) to watch the broadcast live."

What can we expect from Generation 8?

According to Nintendo, a "core RPG Pokemon title" will be released at some point this year for the Nintendo Switch.

Unlike the company's previous release "Let's Go", which was heavily influenced by "Pokemon Go", 2019's release will be more in line with "X, Y, Sun and Moon".

"Pokemon Sun and Moon" was the last update to the franchise, with the release introducing the seventh generation of Pokemon in 2016.
