Pokémon Champions is all set to launch on Switch consoles worldwide, and we don't have long to wait for the game to go live. While it will still take a few months for the mobile release, you should be able to play soon if you own a Switch console.
Let's look at when you'll be able to play the game based on where you're located.
Pokémon Champions release countdown
Traditionally, Pokémon games have been released at midnight. Pokémon Legends Z-A followed the same pattern last October. Pokémon Champions, however, will have a simultaneous launch across all regions. The following countdown will expire once the release goes live.
The countdown is based on the following times.
- 7pm PT (April 7)
- 9pm CT (April 7)
- 10pm ET (April 7)
- 3am UTC
- 4am CET
Hence, you'll be able to play later today if you're in the United States or the Americas. All other regions will be able to play starting tomorrow (April 8) due to time zones. This information is available from TPC, and it's unlikely to change with only a few hours left.
As of writing, we have no concrete information on when Pokémon Champions will launch on mobile devices. Some rumors suggest a launch could happen in June this year. However, there's been no confirmation from TPC as of writing.
While Pokémon Champions will be available for free, it's a multiplayer experience, and you'll need access to Nintendo Online to matchmake with other players. All the remaining components of the game will be available for free, with microtransactions for those willing to purchase.
