Pointless fans spot celebrity lookalike within minutes of episode starting

Fans of Pointless took to Twitter to express how one of the players had a celebrity lookalike.

Watchers of the BBC programme claimed that contestant Simon Hancock, coupled with his wife Nancy, was the doppelganger of Doctor Who's Peter Capaldi.

The drummer, from Aldbourne, had appeared on the show previously but this time more fans saw the resemblance between him and the star.

One user took to Twitter and said: "Is it just me or does Simon look remarkably like Peter Capaldi? #pointless."

Another said: "I was about to tweet the same" with a laughing face emoji.

A third added: "Simon - Peter Capaldi ’s younger brother? #pointless."

Aaron posted: "Is it just me who thinks Simon resembles a younger Peter Capaldi? #pointless."

Mary said: "#Pointless Simon is a reincarnation of Peter Capaldi."

The pair made it to head to head round where they had the opportunity to increase the jackpot by playing a round which required them to name owls, canals in European cities, tied competitions and finally book of the Bible in order to have a chance to win the £1250 jackpot.

They conquered the round together and headed onto the final round, beating contestants Seb and Ems.

When gearing up for the final round, host Alexander Armstrong, asked them what categories they would like to see.

The Dr Who lookalike replied: "American drum companies and Star Wars please."

However, the final category was "things containing the letter P".

The couple took careful consideration through their way in the final stage of the show. They seemed unsure of a few of their answers.

But, luckily, their thinking worked as they bagged themselves the jackpot prize fund and went home happy.
