Two Pointless contestants suffered an Emmerdale disaster when they blew the chance of winning the BBC quiz show’s jackpot.
Contestants Sue and Holly from Barnsley, picked to try and find a pointless answer on the topic of Emmerdale when they appeared on the episode that aired on Monday, September 20.
Sue and Holly picked Emmerdale from the option of four categories because their former neighbour Dean Andrews plays Will Taylor in the ITV soap opera.

To win the jackpot of £1,250 they had the option of finding a pointless answer from three categories - members of the Dingle family, landlord and ladies of The Woolpack and characters that have been owners of Home Farm.
Sue said: “Shall we pick Emmerdale because of our old neighbour?”
Host Alexander Armstrong interjected: “Oh, that would be nice if your old neighbour, who was presumably in Emmerdale, helped you win.”
Realising they might have made a mistake picking Emmerdale after confessing they were far from superfans, the contestants submitted the names Sue, Belle and Cain for the Dingle category.
Holly said: “We’ve stitched ourselves up good and proper here.”
Ultimately, none of those answers proved to be pointless with Sue, of course, not even being a correct answer.
Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman praised Sue and Holly for taking a punt on Emmerdale.
Quite likely many Emmerdale fans would have scooped the jackpot with those final round options.
