Poetry in motion as East Kilbride toasts the Bard at brilliant Burns suppers

It was poetry in motion as schools and groups across East Kilbride and the surrounding area hosted brilliant Burns suppers.

Haggis, tatties and neeps were washed down with Irn Bru as kids, staff and special guests toasted the Bard.

Community Stalwart Avril Anderson joined celebrations at Calderglen High (EKN)

There was the usual Address to the Haggis as well as the Selkirk Grace, Immortal Memory and Toast to the Lassies followed by a Reply to the Toast to the Lassies.

At Auldhouse Primary the children marked all things Burns with Scottish food, pupils reciting Scottish poems, singing Scottish songs and dancing.

After all their hard work the children tucked in to a meal of haggis, neeps and tatties.
