'Pocketed Mbappe' - Manchester United fans react to Axel Tuanzebe's loan exit

Manchester United fans have wished Axel Tuanzebe well as the defender joins Napolo for his second loan spell of the season.

Tuanzebe has swapped Villa Park for Serie A after failing to cement a starting place under new Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard following the sacking of Dean Smith.

The 24-year-old completed his medical on Thursday before finalising the move on Saturday, which is to run until the end of the season.

Tuanzebe featured under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at United but only managed nine Premier League appearances last season, the last of which coming on the final day against Wolves.

A promising start to like at Villa soon fizzled out with Smith's sacking as Gerrard afforded him just eight minutes of football, and Tuanbeze will now be looking to get further experience in Italy.

Following the confirmation, Reds fans flooded social media with messages of support for the England youngster and reminded him of his performance against Paris Saint-Germain star Kylan Mbappe last season.

Tuanzebe can be registered in time to make his debut against Sampdoria on Wednesday.

The two-time Premier League 2 winner celebrated the news with a post on Instagram that simply read: "SSC Napoli" accompanying the post with a story with their slogan "Forza Napoli Sempre".

Luciano Spalletti's side are well in the Serie A title race as they sit six points off holders Inter Milan midway through the season, though three successive home defeats to Atalanta, Empoli and Spezia have hampered their chances.

He joins former Manchester United players Chris Smalling, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alexis Sanchez in Italy's top flight.
