Pocket Pirates & the Great Cheese Robbery by Chris Mould - review

This is a really exciting adventure story about a band of four tiny pirates and the ship’s cat. The evil skirting board mice steal the ship’s cat and demand cheese for its return!

The pirates venture forth, meeting dangers, such as Doyle the dog, as they head towards the FRIDGE! Being so tiny makes their journey a bit like a rough sea voyage with scary monsters like spiders to fight.

As well as being exciting this book made me laugh out loud; one of the funniest bits was when Captain Crabsticks and Uncle Noggin defeat the mice by throwing a book down on them called ‘How to Deal with Domestic Pest Control’.

Pocket Pirates

This book reminded me of The Borrowers but I prefer the Pocket Pirates because I loved the pictures, especially the villains, Mr Dregby the Spider and the Skirting Board mice. The pictures are so good it helps make the story come to life.

I am waiting impatiently for the next Pocket Pirate and rate this book 10/10.
