made some ground by calling on David Cameron to do more to crack down on tax evasion and avoidance.
Cameron defended what the government had already done, while failing to commit to more action against tax havens or explain why Conservative MEPs voted against EU measures to tackle big multinationals shifting their tax liabilities.
