Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha is expected to visit Europe next month to further strengthen mutual ties following the European Union's decision last year to resume political contact at all levels with Thailand.
Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai said preparations for the trip are underway and include meetings at the EU head office.
The trip was originally scheduled to take place this month but was postponed due to scheduling conflicts.
He said cooperation between Thailand and the EU has progressed well since the resumption of ties which is being marked with an exchange of visits by top-level government officials.
Mr Don said the country's foreign policy is beneficial and helpful to the public and he stressed the need to maintain confidence.
The EU halted all official visits to Thailand and suspended the signing of a partnership agreement in Bangkok following the May 2014 coup in which Gen Prayut came to power, but agreed to rekindle ties after the country's adoption of a new constitution and Gen Prayut's pledge to hold elections.
