JAISALMER: Expressing concern over rising incidents of communal violence, chief minister Ashok Gehlot urged PM Narendra Modi to appeal for peace and brotherhood in the country.
“I think the Prime Minister should appeal to countrymen that this polarisation that is taking place in the name of religion and caste is not in the interest of the country,” said Gehlot.
He said the Karauli incident or the murder of a person in Beawar in a clash is unfortunate. “The state or the country where peace, harmony and brotherhood prevail leads to strong economic situation,” said Gehlot.
Targeting the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh, Gehlot said that bulldozer has become the election symbol and fake encounters are taking place. “These actions are being termed as a big action taken by the UP government,” said Gehlot.
Expressing concern over the Karauli incident, he said he has been worried since yesterday about the kind of situation. “I spoke to DGP in the morning and asked him to take action against those who tried to provoke the riot. The state should be ruled only by the law of the land,” said Gehlot.
