PM Modi Convoy Route Scare: NIA Joins Probe After Explosives Found in Bengaluru

According to officials cited by ANI, an NIA team left for Bengaluru on Monday to examine the incident and support local police authorities in the ongoing probe.

“A National Investigation Agency (NIA) team is en route to the spot where a suspicious packet containing two gelatin sticks was found on the outskirts of Bengaluru, where PM Narendra Modi’s convoy was scheduled to pass on Sunday. The NIA will assist local police in the probe,” officials said.

So far, no arrests have been made. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation and formed special teams to identify and trace those responsible for placing the explosive material near the convoy route.

Police said the suspicious packet was discovered on Sunday morning near Thathaguni in Kaggalipura, around one kilometre from the NICE Road junction. The discovery was made nearly 90 minutes before the prime minister was scheduled to travel through the area.

According to local police, the packet was spotted by a constable conducting anti-sabotage checks as part of a routine area domination exercise ahead of the prime minister’s visit. The packet was reportedly lying about 25 feet away from the roadside near a compound wall.

Following the alert, the area domination team immediately rushed to the spot and recovered the two gelatin sticks. Security personnel then secured the surrounding area to prevent any potential threat.

The incident has raised serious security concerns, prompting central and state agencies to intensify the investigation into the matter.
