
Many farmers have been waiting for the announcement of the release date of the 23rd installment of the PM Kisan Yojana (PM Kisan). Each instalment of the PM Kisan scheme provides Rs 2,000 to its beneficiaries. The instalment is directly credited to farmers' accounts.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 22nd instalment of the PM Kisan scheme on March 13, 2026, in Guwahati, Assam.
PM Kisan 23rd instalment date and time
Based on the pattern of previous instalment releases, the PM Kisan 23rd instalment is expected to be released around June-July 2026. However, the official date has not been announced yet.
Beneficiaries receive three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 every four months through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into their bank accounts.
What is the PM-Kisan scheme?The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme is a central government scheme that provides income support to eligible landholding farmer families. Under the scheme, Rs 6,000 is transferred every year in 3 equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each to help farmers meet agricultural and allied expenses.
Farmers must ensure their e-KYC is completed and their Aadhaar is linked to their bank account to receive the instalment amount.
Is PM Kisan eKYC mandatory?
Yes. According to the PM-Kisan portal, eKYC is mandatory for all registered farmers. The OTP-based eKYC can be completed online through the PM-Kisan website, while the biometric-based eKYC can be done at the nearest CSC.
How to check PM Kisan beneficiary statusTo check status:
1. Visit the official PM-Kisan portal.
2. Click on ‘Beneficiary Status’ under Farmers Corner.
3. Enter Aadhaar number, bank account number or mobile number along with captcha.
4. Click ‘Get Status’ to view details.

Who may not receive the next PM Kisan instalment?
The government has identified certain suspected cases that may fall under the exclusion criteria outlined in PM-Kisan scheme guidelines. These include, for example:
Farmers who acquired land ownership after February 1, 2019.
Cases where more than one family member is receiving benefits (e.g., both husband and wife, an adult member, minor, etc.).
Benefits for such cases have been temporarily withheld till physical verification is completed.
Farmers are requested to check their eligibility status on the Know Your Status (KYS) option of the PM KISAN website/ mobile app or the Kisan eMitra chatbot for further details.
