Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha pays homage to the statue of Thao Suranaree in downtown Nakhon Ratchasima on Monday morning, ahead of the two-day cabinet meeting.

NAKHON RATCHASIMA - Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha arrived in Nakhon Ratchasima on Monday morning for a two-day mobile cabinet meeting.

Accompanied by his ministers, Gen Prayut paid homage to the statue of Thao Suranaree in downtown Korat and proceeded to meet local residents gathered to welcome him at the Hua Thalay municipal park in tambon Huay Thalay.

The prime minister handed over land ownership certificates to landless farmers under the Agriculture Ministry’s and the Natural Resources and Environment Ministry’s project and replied to public questions about the government policies.

The mobile cabinet meeting is scheduled for Aug 21-22 with a focus on water management.

In the afternoon the premier will meet governors of the northeastern provinces, representatives from the private sector and local administrators at the provincial hall.

He will also inspect the water management system at Bueng Kradon reservoir in Prathai district and the implementation of the 9101 economic stimulus scheme to help low-income farmers develop their own businesses.

The cabinet recently approved the 22.8-billion-baht scheme to finance 9,101 communities nationwide, each with a 2.5-million-baht investment to spur agricultural businesses.
