'PM appears too grand to answer a legitimate question on whether he pays for a private GP'

Once again we find Rishi Sunak dodging the integrity and accountability he declared would be the hallmarks of his unelected premiership.

By refusing to answer a legitimate question in the public interest about whether he pays for a private GP, the Prime Minister is condemning himself.

As the wealthiest No 10 tenant in history, we believe he does pay for private healthcare.

His shifty reticence unintentionally confirms the multi-millionaire – married to an heiress – is aware this is a major political problem.

Having a Tory running a service he does not rely on raises major questions about whether he understands, cares or even has a plan to fix an NHS badly battered by the party he leads.

Arrogantly dismissing inquiries about his privileged position as “not really relevant” shows no integrity or accountability. He appears too grand to answer to the little people.

So, Mr Sunak, do you pay for a private GP? Yes or No? We’ll keep asking until you reply.

Apology owed

Admitting he was probably bigoted and racist before he met Meghan Markle, Prince Harry has left it too late to back away from the damaging accusation that Britain has a racist Royal Family.

The allegation was the most dangerous of the charges levelled against his family during the sensational interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Denied by brother William in a rare public response and a veiled “recollections may vary” rebuke to Harry from the Queen, the hurtful allegation triggered hostility around the world towards the royals and a guessing game about the name or names of the culprits.

Harry may have legitimate complaints about his treatment but he also owes apologies.

Grave mistake

Talking to loved ones beyond the grave is a macabre use of artificial intelligence.

When it comes to bringing happiness, gadgets designed to let you “speak” to the deceased aren’t a dead cert.
