Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul will make an official visit to Indonesia on Aug 3 and 4 to hold talks aimed at strengthening ties between the two Southeast Asian nations.
Ahead of the visit, the cabinet on Monday approved a five-year Thailand-Indonesia Strategic Partnership Plan for 2026-30, which will serve as a framework for expanding cooperation between the two countries.
The plan focuses on three key areas — security, economic development, and socio-cultural cooperation — and is intended to deepen relations and promote closer collaboration over the next five years.
Mr Anutin’s visit is expected to include discussions on issues of mutual interest and opportunities to advance bilateral cooperation.
Relevant agencies have been tasked with preparing issues Thailand hopes to advance during leader-level talks, including key policy priorities and structural challenges requiring bilateral cooperation, according to deputy government spokesperson Lalida Persvivatana.
