
Six people have died in a shooting incident in Plymouth this evening, police have confirmed.
The gunman had opened fire in the residential area at around 6pm on Thursday.
Two females and two males were found dead at the scene, as well as another male – believed to be the gunman.
Another female treated at the scene died a short time later in hospital.
One of the six victims is a child under the age of 10, according to local news website PlymouthLive.
All six people died from gunshot wounds, and the next of kin of the deceased have been located and informed by Devon & Cornwall Police officers.
The police have stressed that it is not being treated as a terror-related incident.
The area has been cordoned off and police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
Investigations are continuing into the incident and disruption to the road network in the Keyham will remain throughout the night.
Police continue to ask any members of the public with mobile phone footage of the immediate aftermath of the incident not to post this on social media platforms and to respect those families who have lost loved ones this evening.
