Plymouth Argyle have confirmed the appointment of Derek Adams as their new manager.
During two spells with Ross County, Adams guided the Dingwalls club into the top tier of Scottish football, as well as a Scottish Cup final and two Scottish Challenge Cup finals.

Adams was sacked by Ross County in 2014, revealing that it was his father George – the club’s director of football – who told him the news. “He did actually sack me,” said Adams at the time. “He phoned me to tell me I was getting the sack and I then had to phone the chairman about the situation.”
Last month John Sheridan left his role as Argyle manager for family reasons, after the team were knocked out in the League Two play-off semi-finals by Wycombe Wanderers.
