Plus size model Tess Holliday owns her curves at the beach after Piers Morgan spat

Tess Holliday owned her curves as she slipped into swimwear for a trip to the beach.

The plus size model showed the world she's more than comfortable in her own skin after becoming embroiled in a very public spat with Piers Morgan .

The Good Morning Britain presenter aired his views about Tess last year after she posed for the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine.

Last September, Piers publicly berated the cover, called influencer Tess "morbidly obese" and accused her of promoting an "unhealthy" lifestyle.

Piers hit out at the magazine, saying: "There’s nothing remotely powerful or inspiring about a 5ft 3in person breaking the scales at 300lbs."

He added on Instagram : "As Britain battles an ever-worsening obesity crisis, this is the new cover of Cosmo.

"Apparently we’re supposed to view it as a ‘huge step forward for body positivity.’

"What a load of old baloney. This cover is just as dangerous & misguided as celebrating size zero models."

But tattooed beauty Tess, 34, proved just how much she cares about what other people think as she visited Malibu beach, in California.

Stunning Tess slipped into a black floral one-piece as she enjoyed a dip in the sea.

She beamed a huge smile as she splashed around in the water, having fun and letting her brunette locks get wet.

Tess also shared a video of herself sipping on a drink as she relaxed on the sand with her hair pulled up in a bun on the top of her head.

"Drinking frosé on the beach today. What about you?️ #effyourbeautystandards," she posted on Instagram.

Tess defended her cover on TV (ITV)

Last year, Tess, who is 5ft 5ins tall and weighs 20 stone, hit back at criticism of her Cosmo cover.

She said: "To everyone saying I’m a burden to the British health care system, I’m american so you don’t have to worry about my fat a**.

"Worry about what horrible people you are by whining about how me being on the cover of a glossy magazine impacts your small minded life."
