Pleasureland smashed up by yobs who threatened its owner

Pleasureland in Southport was smashed up by yobs who also threatened its owner this week.

Merseyside Police were called to Pleasureland in Southport on Monday (July 19) after reports of damage being caused, and threats being made to the owner by a group of men.

Officers arrived at the park, on Marine Drive, at around 9.35pm.

Pleasureland owner Norman Wallis told the ECHO : "These scallies smashed gates, ripped down the flags and attempted to smash the windows in the kiosk."

Community Policing Inspector Graham Fisher said: “This incident caused fear, damage and inconvenience to a local business and we’re determined to find out who was responsible.

“We have increased patrols in the area and are working closely with partners to support the work we’re doing to target anti-social behaviour, including deploying patrols to hotspots, education with local schools and joint operations.
