Newcastle United all-but assured their Premier League safety thanks to an impressive 1-0 win at Leicester City on Friday night and Ayoze Perez was a standout for fans.
The Magpies arrived in Leicester hoping to finally cement their spot in the Premier League for next season and they pretty much did that by moving ten points clear of relegation-threatened Cardiff City.
Whilst Rafa Benitez's immediate thoughts after the final whistle were focused on looking ahead to the summer and demanding Newcastle United be more competitive in the transfer window, some fans were simply revelling in the display from Perez.
The 25-year-old grabbed the only goal of the game in the first half with a fantastic glancing header which saw Newcastle pick up all three points, something which left Perez delighted.
"The team showed great character to come here and get three points. I think 38 will be enough to stay in the Premier League," Perez explained post-match.

But it wasn't just Perez who was happy with his side's performance as fans also offered up praise for the attacking midfielder, who ended up trending on Twitter following the 1-0 win.
Perez is contracted until the end of the summer of 2021 but has recently spoken about a desire to return to Spain. Fans, however, want him to stay as the reaction below shows.
