The plea date for a teen charged with the murder of a young mum has been adjourned.
Nigel Diakite, also known as Mohammed Diakite, was charged with murder after the body of N'Taya Elliott-Cleverley was found at a flat in January.
The 20-year-old was discovered at an address on Prince Alfred Road, Wavertree, in the early hours of January 29.
A post mortem examination stated the cause of Ms Elliott-Cleverley's death was "mechanical asphyxiation".
Diakite, of Prince Alfred Road, was charged with murder on Saturday, January 30 and the 19-year-old appeared at Sefton Magistrates' Court on February 1.
The case was listed at Liverpool Crown Court this morning for hearing before Judge Andrew Menary, QC, for which Diakite was not present.
Ian Unsworth, QC, prosecuting, explained that Diakite would not enter his plea on this occasion.
Sarah Holt, defending, confirmed that the teenager would not plead to the offence today.
The next hearing will take place on July 16 this year.
In tribute to Ms Elliott-Cleverly one woman said: "Can’t believe this has happened to such an amazing, gorgeous friend.
"Thinking about Tay's family, St Julie's girls, her gorgeous baby girl and friends. You will be missed by so many people.
"We will all keep our memories close. Goodnight our mini Beyoncé we love you."
