PlayStation Network crashes leaving users around the world unable to play games

It’s one of the most popular gaming platforms around the world, but it seems the PlayStation Network is experiencing issues this morning.

According to Down Detector, the issues started at around 11:13 BST, and are affecting users around the world.

While the reason for the outage remains unclear, of those who reported issues, 70% reported problems with sign-up, 17% with gameplay, and 11% with social.

PlayStation is yet to comment on the issues.

Several frustrated users have taken to Twitter to discuss this morning's outage.

One user tweeted: "Is the playstation network down? Or is it just my buggy console?"

Another added: "The network is down without any updates from playstation maintenance, but I'm still able to get onto the PSN store to give them money to buy games, go figure.. lol."

Thankfully, it seems the issues didn't last long and have now been resolved.

If you're still experiencing issues, it may be wise to try the good old faithful 'turn it off and on again'.

One user tweeted: "Multiple solutions are to either repeatedly restart the application or turn off your internet router and playstation."
