PlayStation 5 update with possible drops at John Lewis and BT

By Gemma Sherlock

Two brands are set to get major PlayStation 5 stock this week ahead of Black Friday.

It's being reported that John Lewis and BT will go live at some point this week with their drop of the Sony console.

The BT Shop will be going live with PlayStation 5 consoles within the next few days, it could even be today (Monday, November 22).

The telecoms company offers BT customers the chance to add the Sony console to their existing BT package - so you'll need to already be a BT customer to take part in their drop.

If you're thinking of signing up to BT as a broadband customer check out their Black Friday deals here.

Their last PS5 drop came on BT on October 27 when they made a limited number of the PS5's available to broadband customers only.

These were available on a first come first serve basis and only available to those who received a unique code.

Meanwhile, John Lewis expects to receive a Disc Edition only shipment approximately around December 21.

As this is an approximate date, gaming experts are expecting a John Lewis drop a few days before or after that date - keep their landing page saved here for updates.

John Lewis had a major restock of the PS5 on October 20, and customers were being urged to use the mobile app for a better experience.

Checking via their app rather than their website may be more useful but this isn't guaranteed.

Despite supply issues, Sony's latest console has sold more than 10 million times worldwide, making it the biggest console launch in US history.

In the UK, the console was made available to buy on November 19, 2020 and sold out instantly.

The PlayStation 5 comes in two forms - the PS5 console: £449.99 and the PS5 Digital Edition console: £359.99.

The only difference between the PS5 console and the PS5 Digital Edition console is the inclusion of an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive in the PS5 console. The PS5 Digital Edition console does not feature a disc drive.
