PlayStation 5 pre-orders open letting gamers secure Sony's console for just £40

PlayStation 5 pre-orders have opened - despite the fact Sony has only just confirmed the console.

Game Mania, a gaming shop based in Belgium, has opened pre-orders for the PS5, allowing gamers to secure the highly-anticipated console with just a €50 (£43) deposit.

However, to register your interest, you need to visit a Game Mania store in person.

Unfortunately for Brits, the outlet currently doesn’t have any stores in the UK, meaning a trip over to Belgium or the Netherlands would be necessary to secure your console.

Once you’ve pre-ordered the console, you’ll be placed on a waiting list, and will be one of the first to get the PlayStation 5 when it launches next year.

As expected, the console is called the PlayStation 5 (Coroflot)

The official selling price for the device remains unclear, however it’s predicted to cost around £500 at launch.

The news comes shortly after Sony finally confirmed the name and launch date for the PlayStation 5.

As expected, the console is called the PlayStation 5 and will launch in time for ‘Holiday 2020.’

Playstation 5: Everything we know so far

In a blog about the news, Jim Ryan , President and CEO of SIE, said: “Since we originally unveiled our next-generation console in April, we know that there’s been a lot of excitement and interest in hearing more about what the future of games will bring.

“Today I’m proud to share that our next-generation console will be called PlayStation 5, and we’ll be launching in time for Holiday 2020.”
