There’s still over a year to go before Sony officially launches the PlayStation 5 , but a new leak provides us with a glimpse of what the console could look like.
LetsGoDigital has posted new renders of the PS5, courtesy of ResetEra user, Crimson Nocturne.
The concept images suggest that the PS5 console could have a wedge-shaped design.
LetsGoDigital explained: “The game console is considerably thinner at the front than at the rear, so there is sufficient room for ventilation.
“The disk drive is placed on the left front, immediately next to it an on / off button is positioned.”

The renders suggest that the back of the console will feature a large ventilation grid, while the connections are situated on the right of the back.
Meanwhile, the console also features PlayStation’s iconic blue LED light strip, which also features in the PlayStation 4 Pro.
The leak comes shortly after Sony confirmed the name and launch date for the PS5.

Jim Ryan, President & CEO at Sony Interactive Entertainment, said: “Since we originally unveiled our next-generation console in April, we know that there’s been a lot of excitement and interest in hearing more about what the future of games will bring.
“Today I’m proud to share that our next-generation console will be called PlayStation 5, and we’ll be launching in time for Holiday 2020.
“These updates may not be a huge surprise, but we wanted to confirm them for our PlayStation fans, as we start to reveal additional details about our vision for the next generation.”
