The launch date and price of the long-awaited PlayStation 5 may have finally been revealed.
@IronManPS5, a respected leaker, has tweeted what he claims are the launch details of both new PlayStation 5 consoles online, the Mirror reports.
He said: “Sony Interactive Entertainment will launch PlayStation 5 in several countries in the holiday season of 2020 and will make PlayStation 5 available in North America and Europe on November 20, 2020 at a recommended retail price (RRP) of $499, €499 and £449.”
@IronManPS5 added that the PlayStation 5 Digital, the version without a disc drive, will be about £100 cheaper, launching at $399, €399 and £349.
He said the DualSense controller will be $59.99, €59.99 and £54.99, while the controller charging station will cost $29.99, €29.99 and £24.99. The PlayStation 5 HD Camera is also tipped to launch at $59.99, €59.99 and £54.99.
However, the most pricey accessory is expected to be the Pulse 3D Wireless Headset. @IronManPS5 added: “Sony Interactive Entertainment will launch a Pulse 3D Wireless Headset for PlayStation 5 in several countries in the holiday season of 2020 and will make the headset available in North America and Europe on November 20, 2020 at an RRP of $159, €179 and £129.”
While the leak indicates the console will be available in North America and Europe from November 20, it’s good news for PS5 fans in Japan. @IronManPS5 says the console will launch in Japan a week earlier, on November 14.
As always, these are just rumours, and Sony is yet to confirm anything.
