After months of anticipation, Sony finally unveiled given fans a sneak peek at the PlayStation 5 console, ahead of its release this Christmas.
The gaming giant hosted a ‘Future of Gaming’ event, during which it gave fans a glimpse at many of the games in store for the PS5.
Speaking at the event, Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, said: “It’s now just over a year since we started sharing technical details about the PlayStation 5.
“But today’s the day we’ve been waiting for for years - when we get to show you some of the games that demonstrate our belief that PlayStation 5 marks the biggest generational transition our industry has yet seen."
The console features a black and white design, with a black middle section and white panels on either side.
It's lit by subtle blue lights, and features a combination of angular and rounded shapes.
While it's a pretty slick design, some fans have compared the PS5 to a WiFi router.
One tweeted: "The design of the PlayStation 5 looks like a router tho. Who would've thought."
Another added: "Please tell me I'm not the only who thought the PlayStation 5 looks like a freaking wifi router?
And one joked: "The Playstation 5 looks like a router/modem and I'm fine with this."
Unfortunately, there's still a bit of a wait before you can get your hands on one.
The PlayStation 5 is set to go on sale in Holiday 2020.
