An Ayrshire dad is offering up the Holy Grail of gaming – by raffling his new PS5 for just £10.
Ciaran McBride, of Ayr, is giving away the most sought-after kit in the console world in order to raise cash for a good cause.
The dad-of-one, a deputy manager at Irvine's Virgin Money store, managed to snap up the gaming goldust in a mad dash online.
He told Ayrshire Live: "I'm one of those people who stays glued to all the forums and keeps an eye on when sites get new stock.
"I stayed up through the night and managed to get hold of this at around 2am.
"Just by trawling around in the early hours, I got lucky.
"So for people who think it's impossible to get your hands on one, I'm definitely proof it can be done.
"Not all of them go to the scalpers and it would be great to raise a good bit of money here."
Ciaran, who also managed to bag one for himself during a separate earlier stock drop, has decided to raise cash for Whiteleys Retreat by raffling this console.
He is due to climb Mount Kilimanjaro – Covid restrictions permitting – later this year to raise further money for the charity and will also tackle the virtual London Marathon.
Entry costs £10 for the PS5, that retails at £450, with all proceeds going to Whiteleys, which offers therapeutic breaks for families on the outskirts of Ayr.
Ciaran, 39, said: "I put it on my Facebook three days ago and have already got £400 worth of entries.
"Our work has done a lot of stuff with Whiteleys down the years and it is a fantastic cause which deserves all the support we can give it.
"So if this can raise a bit of money for them, I'll be delighted."
Whiteleys CEO Maxine Allan said: "This is a fantastic gesture from Ciaran and I'm sure interest in this will be very high.
"Wherever you look at the moment, people seem to be on the hunt for a PS5, so now is their chance to get one for just £10 and help a good cause into the bargain."
