PlayStation 5 concept images give hint of what DualShock 5 controller could look like

There’s still a year to go before Sony finally unveils the PlayStation 5 , but new concept images may have given us a new hint of what to expect from the PS5 controller.

The concept images were developed by Italian designer Snoreyn for LetsGoDigital , based on images from Sony patents.

They suggest that the DualShock 5 controller will look much like its predecessor, the DualShock 4, with identical positioning of the buttons, joysticks and triggers.

However, one noticeable difference is the absence of the PlayStation button from the front of the controller.

LetsGoDigital said: “The rear side is more interesting, as various additional operating elements are included here that are discussed in detail in the enclosed documentation.”

The images suggest that the back of the controller will feature two buttons on the left and two on the right, as well as one large movable button that players can move up and down.

LetsGoDigital explained: “With the large movable button you can extend the handle at the bottom. A unique function and also ideal, because you can easily adjust the game controller to your wishes, based on the size of your hands.”

Meanwhile, the bottom of the controller is predicted to feature two extra knobs, right next to the handles.

According to LetsGoDigital, these extra controls will provide more options for controlling game characters.

As always, the images are just concepts, and it remains unclear whether or not they’re just rumours or reflect the truth.

Unfortunately, there’s still a while to find out - the PlayStation 5 is set to launch in Holiday 2020.
