A new playgroup manager is making it her mission to change the "bad reputation" of the previous group which has left it requiring improvement.
Becky Hawkins, 32, took over the Inham Park pre-school, in Chilwell, in January and has introduced a number of changes including a new name and opening hours.
From September it will be known as Parkview Preschool in an attempt to entice new parents to visit.
There are currently 12 children on role at the charity-funded playgroup, with space for 22 in total.
"The nursery itself has been in requires improvement for years. I've took it over and the aim is to get it up to at a least good," said Becky.
"This is my passion. We are working so hard to make it better.
"Previously, things were very regimented and time-orientated, which stifled the kids. We've made it more free-flowing, leaving more toys out of boxes so they have access to it.

"We're implementing a 'curiosity approach' to work - which follows children's interests and what they want to do we will go with it.
"We've completely changed the booked corner which inspectors pulled up on before.
"We've also created a new sensory room for the kids which they love. We've really tried to address the issues and we hope inspectors see that when they visit next.
"I can't thank the staff enough especially the deputy manager (Skye Paling), we've all worked really hard in five or six months."
The pre-school is also extending its opening hours from September to appeal to more working parents.
It currently opens 9am to 12.30pm four days a week but will change to 8.30am to 2.30pm for five days a week.
On Saturday, August 17 the nursery will be holding a community day to show the work they have done in turning things around.
Mrs Hawkins added: "Having had new management, soon to have a new name and newly decorated, we really want to get ourselves known a bit more.
"We are hoping for a fantastic turn out with bouncy castle, ice cream van, football events, a bowls match, hopefully a fire engine, lots of stalls and games."
Ofsted inspectors are expected to return to the nursery from October 2019.
