Playground organisers reassure music fans after first night 'technical difficulties'

Organisers of the inaugural Playground festival in Rouken Glen Park have sent out a reassurance to revellers after some first-night teething problems.

Dozens of attendees have taken to social media to raise concerns about issues at the site last night, as the three-day event kicked off for the first time.

With reports of major queues getting into the venue and further waits of more than an hour at bars within the venue, there were also issues with provisions in the toilet cubicles, and fears not enough had been provided.

And as the sun beat down on the extravaganza, headlined yesterday by Friendly Fires and Groove Armada, there were also complaints about the lack of free water available, and food running out.

But a spokesperson from the management team was keen to alleviate any concerns of people heading to the new festival today to see the likes of Craig Charles and Lauryn Hill.

They told us "technical difficulties" and first-night teething problems would be ironed out today, and better signage would be provided to toilets on site.
