The organisers of Glasgow's Playground Festival have confirmed this afternoon that the festival will be postponed until September.
Originally scheduled for Friday July 31 to Sunday, August 2, the festival will now take place on the bank holiday weekend from Sunday, September 27 to Tuesday, September 29.
The decision to postpone the festival, which will take place in the same location of Rouken Glen Park on the south side of the city, comes amid the postponement of large scale gatherings amid the coronavirus pandemic.
A statement from organisers said: "To ensure that this year’s edition of the festival goes ahead in the same great location, with it's amazing vibe and great artists then this postponement is in everyone’s best interest.
"We are delighted to confirm that Underworld, CHVRCHES, The Flaming Lips, Neneh Cherry and Nightmares On Wax have all confirmed as headliners for the 25th, 26th & 27th along with ninety percent of our original line up and look forward to announcing some great new acts joining the Playground 2020 bill.
"Thank you for your messages of support and we can’t wait to see you for the biggest party the Glasgow September weekend bank holiday has ever seen".
In the meantime, the festival has introduced Playground Play - a series of live and pre-recorded performances, interviews and fun ‘get to knows’ with artists set to perform at this year's festival.
