Winter-loving whippet captured playfully rolling in frosty cold grass

Many of us will have turned up the heating and found our own cosy retreat as winter settles in but one three-year-old whippet finds enjoyment in the cold weather more than anyone else.

Luna just loves the chilly mornings and she shows it by rolling and worming her way around patches of frosty grass.

Her owner, Rose Preston from Llangollen, says her pup has always been a big fan of the bitter cold and frost – and it shows in the video.

She caught the sweet whippet having her moment among the wintry backdrop as she is seen pushing herself along the ground having the time of her life on what looks like a very cold day.

She gives her body a little shake and starts to slither like a snake all over again.

Rose, 69, said: “She has always made a beeline for the frosty grass from about seven months old. I don’t know why.

“Once it starts getting cold, as soon as her feet touch the frosty grass she starts jumping about. She just loves running in frosty grass – can’t wait until we get some snow.”

Luna knew winter was her favourite season when her very first Christmas frost arrived and she has been rolling ever since with not a wasted bleak moment.

Rose said: “She doesn’t like the warm weather in summer so we tend to go out early morning and late evening if it is really hot.

“She is my life, my company, my friend and I love watching her playing on the field, especially when other dogs are there. She gets them all to chase her and then just goes a bit faster if they get near.

“She does wear a coat if it’s raining. But when I pick her coat up she goes behind the sofa and I have to use a treat to get her out to put it on.”

That just goes to show that nothing stops Luna from enjoying the chilly weather.
