Players will take the knee in support of Black Lives Matter when the League of Ireland returns next week.
PFA Ireland confirmed tonight that players will follow the example of their counterparts around the world.
Players will kneel for between 10 and 15 seconds before matches in the next eight series of games between July 31 and September 27.
“This is to mark the untimely death of George Floyd and stand in strong solidarity with fellow professionals, civil society and the world wide campaign for equality and fair treatment in life and sport,” said the PFA Ireland in a statement.
“We would like to thank the FAI for their assistance on this and the league steering group, which includes referees and clubs, for their support.”
