
With the golfing calendar having been rejigged for the new season, The Players Championship kicks off golf’s biggest events for 2019.
The unofficial fifth major, held by Webb Simpson, begins a run of six months in which there will be at least one marquee event across both the PGA and European Tours.

When is The Players?
The Players Championship will take place between Thursday, March 14 and Sunday, March 17.
Along with a host of tweaks to the PGA Tour schedule for 2019, the tournament has been moved from May having been held in March for 30 years before being pushed back in 2007.
Where is it?
The tournament will be held, as always, at TPC Sawgrass in Florida.
Local time at TPC Sawgrass is five hours behind GMT.

Prize money
Golfers playing at TPC Sawgrass will be competing for the biggest purse ever seen for a standalone tournament.
In January it was announced that, following a $1.5million hike from 2018, the purse for the fifth major would be a staggering $12.5million (around £9.7m), with the winner pocketing $2.25million.

How to watch
Sky Sports will broadcast the event in the UK, starting with preview 'Live from The Players' shows on Tuesday and Wednesday before their coverage begins on the Thursday.
Featured groups will be available to follow on Sky Sports Golf and Sky Sports Main Event before the full coverage begins on both channels on each of the four days of play.
