Damian de Allende has said that a teammate throwing petrol on a fire led to an accident that injured him and three other Munster players.
De Allende, Mike Haley, CJ Stander and RG Snyman all suffered 'superficial burns' in the incident over the weekend.
Haley and Stander sustained burns to their hands and could return to training this week, but World Cup winning duo de Allande and Snyman will meet a specialist this week to learn the next steps of their recovery.
The province's head coach Johann van Graan confirmed the players are all "ok" but are a doubt for Friday's Guinness Pro14 Rainbow Cup game with Zebre.

The centre described the accident, explaining how a team-mate threw petrol on a fire leading to his hand catching fire before it spread as he tried to put it out.
"We were just sitting around the fire and one of the boys threw a bit of petrol over the fire and then it caught his hand and he just tried to put it down on the floor and then the whole thing caught alight and exploded," De Allende told South African outlet SuperSport.
"Yeah, that’s what we’ve been saying, they thought it was a lot worse when we went into hospital on Saturday night but when we saw the specialist on Sunday he said it wasn’t as bad as they got told," De Allende added.
"We should be okay in a few weeks hopefully."
