Player ratings: How Hearts fared in Scottish Cup triumph over Hibernian

Zander Clark 7

Can pleased with his performance. The former St Johnstone goalkeeper wasn’t tested too seriously but commanded his box well and didn’t do very much wrong. Twice denied Elie Youan in the second half.

Kye Rowles 7

Superb early clearance to get rid of an extremely dangerous cross from Marijan Cabraja. Was calm and composed throughout.

Toby Sibbick 8

Perhaps fortunate to avoid a booking in the first half after fouling Kevin Nisbet on the edge of his area but an otherwise solid display from the centre-half. Almost added a third late on after surging up the pitch, and then went one better in the 96th minute as he repeated the feat before succesfully dinking the ball over David Marshall.

James Hill 6

Occasionally dawdled in possession and was fortunate not to have cost his side a goal in the first half after being robbed by Kevin Nisbet, allowing the Hibs striker to burst through on goal and win a free-kick in a very dangerous area.

Alex Cochrane 6

Another industrious shift from the wing-back. Struggled at times with Youan’s pace and was replaced around the hour-mark by Stephen Kingsley.

Michael Smith 5

Was left breathing a sigh of relief when his tackle on Elie Youan early on rolled just wide of his own goal. Got forward well and could have doubled his side’s advantage when latching onto Cochrane’s cross but didn’t always get back quickly enough when Hibs counter-attacked.

Robert Snodgrass 7

Forced the opening goal with a dangerous delivery from a wide free-kick that proved too awkward for the Hibs defence to deal with. Was calm in possession and rarely gave it away.

Cammy Devlin 7

Was his usual energetic self as he buzzed about the middle of the park. Harried his opponents and gave them little time to settle on the ball. Hearts’ Duracell bunny.

Barrie McKay 5

Struggled to really influence the game. Wriggled away from his marker on occasion but struggled with his passing in the final third. Was subbed off with 25 minutes to go.

Josh Ginnelly 7

Showed good instincts and technique to latch onto a loose ball in the Hearts box following Snodgrass’ free-kick and rifle the ball home for 1-0. Faded as the game wore on before being hooked.

Lawrence Shankland 7

Did well when dropping deep to join the build-up. Fashioned a decent chance for himself with a superb driving run in the second half before making it 2-0 with 20 minutes to go with a wonderful effort. Sent off at the end for picking up two silly bookings.

Substitutes

Stephen Kingsley (for Cochrane, 61) 6

Provided plenty of energy after coming on. Good pressing and assured on the ball.

Jorge Grant (for McKay, 65) 4

Covered plenty of ground but didn’t see much of the ball.

Stephen Humphrys (for Ginnelly, 65) 7

Played a glorious one-two with Shankland to make it 2-0 and put the game beyond Hibs.

Nathaniel Atkinson (for Hill, 81) 5

Came on to shore up defence after Hill took a knock.

Alan Forrest (for Smith, 86) N/A

Brought on for final few minutes.
