The Tennessee Titans didn’t have an easy time pulling out their second consecutive win of the season as they took down the division rival Jacksonville Jaguars 33-30, but they found a way yet again.
While the Titans showed room for improvement in more aspects than one, some things remained consistently strong — one of those being quarterback Ryan Tannehill’s performance.
He’s living up to his four-year, $118 million dollar deal thus far, and delivered for the Titans on Sunday looking poised and accurate, even under pressure.
He completed 18-of-24 passing attempts for 239 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions, finishing out with an impressive 145.7 rating.
Two of those touchdown passes came in the first half, with a 13-yard laser to tight end Jonnu Smith and a 9-yarder to wide receiver Corey Davis.
The win marked the first time Tannehill had thrown for four touchdown passes since 2015, and the first time he’s done so wearing two-toned blue.
There was a lot of talk of how last season’s successes could have been no more than a fluke for Tannehill, who entered this contest with nine games of at least two touchdowns and zero interceptions since Week 7 of last season.
But it looks like Tannehill is at home within Tennessee’s offensive system, and he’s certainly showing no signs of losing momentum at this point.
Tannehill and the Titans will look to improve to 3-0 as they take on the Minnesota Vikings on the road on Sunday.
