Play your best team, Nottingham Forest legend tells Sabri Lamouchi

I’m struggling to see why Sabri Lamouchi thought it would be a good idea to change his Nottingham Forest team at Millwall, of all places.

He tried it at Wigan and it backfired massively, taking out Lewis Grabban and playing Rafa Mir.

It was clear then that one or two players that he gave chances to were not good enough to grasp it and so he thought he’d give them another chance on Friday night.

Not at Millwall, though, that was an error and he admitted as much after the game.

I don’t care what anyone says, if you’ve got your best players available to you then play them.

Don’t mess about, because in this division one defeat can be so costly and then one defeat becomes two and so on.

Look at what happened before, he changed it at Wigan and lost but then had to change it back against Hull a few days later, and once again, the Reds were beaten.

I feel for him in the sense that if he tries to rest Grabban, he doesn’t have the quality to come in and replace him.

So just play him.

Grabban may be 31, but he’s fit and scoring goals. Take advantage of it while you can - its not like there was a game straight after.

Playing at The Den gave Forest an extra day to prepare for Tuesday night, and therefore an extra day to recover.

He’s your only striker capable of finding the net with regularity, so I accept you want to be careful with him, not to the detriment of losing games and dropping points, though.

Lamouchi is doing a fine job at the City Ground, he does however, need to keep faith with his best players.

They’re the ones that will win you games.
