Play, titled Hum Kyun Hain, staged at North Central Zone Cultural Center in Prayagraj

PRAYAGRAJ: A play, titled "Hum Kyun Hain" was presented by the ‘The Third Bell’ repertory under the monthly drama plan on behalf of North Central Zone Cultural Center (NCZCC), Prayagraj on Friday night.

Through this play, the pain of those deprived sections of the society was shown, who, despite being humans, are in search of human sensibilities throughout their life. Apart from home, family, society, they are bound to live a cursed life by being victims of inhuman tortures. No one wants to say anything about them and no one wants to listen.

Through the concept and direction of writers Shailesh Srivastava and Alok Nair, the drama has been woven around deprived characters such as prostitutes, eunuchs, and disabled children from the mainstream of the society and how these characters in the play are in search of their existence. Renowned artist of the city, Ritika Awasthi mesmerized the audience with her performance.

In the role of eunuch Shivranjani, Amitesh Srivastava did justice to his character by making everyone emotional. Raj Singh played the character of prostitute, Rupali.
