Breadalbane Play Park have received a much-welcomed boost to the continuing fundraising appeal to upgrade and refurbish the ageing equipment in Killin.
Killin Breadalbane Angling Club presented a cheque for £1,000 to boost the justgiving page set up eight weeks ago by Fiona Boath, raising the total so far to £2280.
Fiona launched the appeal saying: “Breadalbane play park is tired and sad with many pieces of equipment having reached or nearing the end of their life.
“As a member of the community and as a parent, I would like to take this opportunity to raise awareness and funds to aid in the refurbishment and upgrade of the play park. All monies raised will be given via donation to the appropriate organisation.”
The wider Breadalbane Park area has a history of being enjoyed and respected by the community.
In 2018 the park was one of only two in Scotland to receive the Community Green Flag Award that year. The accolade recognises the efforts of volunteers and community groups in maintaining parks to a standard that allows them to be enjoyed by all.
At that time locals voiced their drive to improve the park even further, particularly the play equipment.
The Breadalbane Play Park just giving page remains open if anyone wishes to make a donation at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/b-playpark?utm_term=EdBR9j6w5
