'Play for god' - Leeds United fans send message to Sergio Ramos after Real Madrid exit

Leeds United fans have urged Sergio Ramos to complete a sensational switch to Elland Road after Real Madrid confirmed he will leave the club.

The Spanish defender will depart the Bernabeu stadium on a free transfer at the end of June after 16 years at the club.

Ramos, one of the most honoured players in Madrid history, is now on the lookout for a new club and Leeds fans are trying to convince him to join their Spanish revolution.

Diego Llorente and Rodrigo Moreno already reside at Elland Road and supporters are keen to see Ramos team up with Marcelo Bielsa to become Leeds' new cult hero.

Of course, a deal would be nigh-on impossible to finance, with Ramos currently earning in excess of £300,000 per week, not to mention that Leeds already have four established centre-backs on their books.

A short statement on Real Madrid's official website confirmed the exit of their captain: "Real Madrid CF announces that tomorrow, Thursday, June 17, at 12:30 pm, there will be an institutional act of tribute and farewell to our captain Sergio Ramos, with the presence of our president Florentino Perez.

"Next, Sergio Ramos will appear before the media at a telematic press conference."

Ramos has made 671 appearances over 16 seasons at the Bernabeu but his relationship with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has reportedly led to his exit.
