Play Canberra spotto in the official Blacklight trailer

It's out and, yes, that garbage truck scene does make the cut.

Get ready for a game of Canberra spotto in the official trailer for the Hollywood action film Blacklight, which was partly filmed in the national capital a year ago.

The Liam Neeson blockbuster is due to be released in the United States on February 11 and in Australia on February 17.

The trailer for the movie, running for a lengthy two minutes and 40 seconds, had quickly racked up more than 60,000 views upon being released online on Wednesday.

While Neeson didn't actually film in Canberra - an extra in a latex mask filled in for him - the national capital was the site for some pivotal chase scenes way back in January 2021.

Canberra filled in for the streets of Washington DC for the thriller, with chases filmed in Civic, featuring a garbage truck, and on Tambreet Street off the Majura Parkway, where a Porsche crashed.

Blacklight starsNeeson as a troubled off-the-books fixer for the Federal Bureau of Investigation who finds himself in middle of a deadly conspiracy while tasked with pulling undercover agents out of dangerous situations.

"One day you wake up and realise you're not sure who the good guys are anymore," Neeson growls in the movie.

The movie was also filmed in Melbourne and surrounding areas.
