Platform 18 returning to Glasgow for final open-air rave in autumn 2022

Platform 18 is returning to Glasgow for its last-ever open-air rave this autumn.

The renowned street party starters are back with their final powerhouse party weekend under the bridge on West Street south of the Clyde on September 24 and 25 – with resident and curator Ivan Kutz pulling out all the stops for the last dance.

For Saturday September 24, Platform 18 is teaming up with local Techno titan Fraz.ier and invites DJ Rush, DVS1, Kobosil and Outflight to the rave.

On Sunday September 25, the final “Final Stop” will be soundtracked by Dave Clarke, Frazi.er, Hardfloor (LIVE), Planetary Assault Systems Live, Speedy J & Co-Accused.

Ahead of the Final Stop, Ivan said: "It's with a heavy heart that I will be hanging up the headphones down at West Street this year. It's been such an extraordinary nine years which has given me the opportunity to build a unique electronic party and book my favourite DJs along the way.

"The whole experience has shaped me into the man I am today and I can't recommend enough to any young expiring promoters out there to just go for it, anything is possible if you have the vision and passion.

"I'd like to thank everyone that has supported Platform 18 over the years, from the sound technicians, In-house security, bar staff, media, No Mean City PR, sponsors, Glasgow City Council, SAMH, my wonderful wife Emily, Niz, Bruce, friends & family and of course all the ravers!"

Platform 18 will once again be drumming up cash for the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH), which Ivan has supported for nine years in memory of his close friend who he lost to suicide. The festival has raised more than £5,000 for the charity since 2013.

He said: "The SAMH charity is very close to my heart since losing a close friend to suicide. This spurred me on to set up the street party and build it all around mental health awareness.

"We looked into this and found an effective way to connect with 18-25-year-olds is through the power of electronic music with over 10,000 attending the events over the years."

Chloe Watson, Community and Events Fundraiser at SAMH, shared her appreciation for Platform 18's support, commenting: We're delighted that Platform 18 has chosen to support SAMH. Music is a great way to connect with others and break down the stigma around mental health. From everyone at SAMH, a huge thank you to everyone involved for helping us be here for people who need us."

Tickets are available from Friday March 25 and will be available on Skiddle.
