Ireland’s most surgically enhanced woman Ava Van Rose said a pensioner was outdated for believing young women shouldn’t go under the knife.
Liveline caller Jane Purcell slammed the example set by Love Island’s Faye Winter whose parents bought her a boob job for her 18th birthday.
She said: “It should be called Fake Island because the girls have fake boobs, nails, eyelashes, breasts, lip fillers and tiny waists.
“I think that’s ridiculous for the parents to pay for that.
“It would be better to send her to a counsellor. I feel so sorry for young girls today watching that.”
However, glamour model Ava, a mum of four, said she got surgery from the age of 21 and revealed she was suicidal “because her body looked so bad after childbirth”.
The 31-year-old from Clondalkin, West Dublin, countered: “Why are any of these women being judged?
“I don’t hear men being judged. If a man is overweight and he wants to go to a gym and he wants to look good how come the men aren’t being judged?
“It’s sexist and her views on that are from an era where it was OK for women to be put down.
“So you weren’t allowed to be attractive and sexual when you were a woman back in her day.
“I’m sorry her views are so dated and old-fashioned. I’ve had two breast augmentations, bum augmentations, liposuction, a tummy tuck, I’ve had veneers, I have fake lips, I have botox and guess what? I feel absolutely brilliant about myself.”
Ava, whose real name is Bridget Byrne, said she had made an income based on her appearance. She added: “I believe women are entitled to be as beautiful as they want.
“And you are judged and you are made fun of if you have a flat chest and you are made fun of if your chest is too big. You don’t win either way.”
Ava said if her daughter stops developing in the way she wants and she approaches her at 21 and wants to get cosmetic surgery she will “buy her her first boob job”.
