When China stopped taking foreign recyclables two years ago, innovation was needed to deal with the world's plastic problem.
Now engineers in Australia say they have developed a technology to reduce plastic that can fit into a room.
They say the micro-factory ends the need for waste products to be transported over long distances and could lead to much more rubbish being recycled.
