Plastic Free Beauty Day backed by Belfast entrepreneur as she storms the streets

A Belfast entrepreneur has stormed the streets of London in a bid to rid the the beauty world of plastic.

We Are Paradoxx founder Yolanda Cooper caused a stir when she plonked an 8ft lipstick bin on on some of the city's busiest streets as part of #PlasticFreeBeautyDay.

It even led to her and her beauty activists getting into a spot of bother with the city's law enforcement officers.

Yolanda said: "We want to make the industry and consumers aware of the effects plastic is having. Every year over 142 billion units of packaging is made, the majority of that is plastic and the majority of that ends up in landfill. We are asking everyone to rethink, reuse and remove plastic beauty products in their everyday routine."

So you can spread the word by using the hashtag #PLASTICFREEBEAUTYDAY and visiting www.plasticfreebeauty.org .
