Plaque marking Andrew’s visit quietly removed from UK town

  • A plaque commemorating Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's 2018 visit to Inverness Town House has been removed and placed in storage by Highland Council.
  • The removal follows his recent arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office, stemming from allegations he shared sensitive information with Jeffrey Epstein during his tenure as trade envoy, which he denies.
  • Other Scottish councils, including Dumfries and Galloway and Clackmannanshire, are reviewing or considering action regarding plaques and paving stones linked to his past visits.
  • The King previously stripped Andrew of his titles, including Earl of Inverness, last October.
  • The UK government is set to release files concerning his appointment as trade envoy between 2001 and 2011, following a unanimous parliamentary motion where MPs criticised his conduct and suggested Jeffrey Epstein's influence in his appointment.
