Plans unveiled for new garden centres in two Morrisons car parks

Plans have been unveiled to create gardens centres in the car parks of two Glasgow supermarkets.

Morrisons has put forward planning applications for two of its stores in the city - one on Riverford Road in the south side and the second on Ravenswood Road in Baillieston.

If the proposals are approved by Glasgow City Council's planning committee, it would see part of each supermarket's car park transformed into a garden centre retail unit.

The Riverford Road application confirms that the new gardens centres would be build from glass, and include its own signage as well as being separate from the main Morrisons buildings. It would be located near the entrance to the supermarket.

Plans for the Ravenswood Road centre are similar to this, with proposals for a separate building in the supermarket car park and close to the entrance of the existing Morrisons.

The status of the application remains pending consideration from councillors.
